Questions and answers
Is converting TIFF to PNG lossless?
Yes for normal 8-bit images: PNG stores every pixel exactly. 16-bit and 32-bit TIFF images are reduced to 8 bits per channel, which is what browsers can show.
Should I choose PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which suits documents, screenshots, drawings and logos. JPG makes much smaller files for photos. For scanned text, PNG stays sharper.
Can I convert a multi-page TIFF to PNG?
Yes. Each page becomes its own PNG, numbered in order, and they download together in one ZIP.
