Your files stay on your device
The TIFF viewer and converters on this website, and the TIFF Viewer extension for Chrome, open and convert files inside your browser. Files are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never see their names or contents. We have no accounts and keep no copies.
This website
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which we host ourselves. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data; it records the page, the referring site, the browser, the country and a few events such as “a file was converted”, with the number of pages but never file names or contents. The pages are delivered by our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page) for security.
The TIFF Viewer extension
The extension collects nothing: no analytics, no ads, no tracking. It stores two small values in your browser (how many files you have opened, so it can ask once for a store rating, and whether it already asked). When you open a file from a link, it downloads that file from that website, the same way your browser would. If the site doesn’t let other pages read its files, the extension asks for permission to access that one site. If you turn on “Open TIFF downloads here automatically”, Chrome asks to let the extension manage your downloads; it only looks for finished .tif and .tiff downloads and opens them in the viewer. To open file:// links it asks for access to files on your computer. You can remove any of these permissions in chrome://extensions at any time.
